Why Discipleship

Our Impact

Does Our Multiplication Model Work? YES!

The task of reaching the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ is huge, and the number of traditional mission workers and resources are limited. That’s why we take a different approach to the Great Commission, providing clusters of churches with a training model that is reproducible and locally sustained.

Since 2008, we’ve seen 26,958 church plants and 600,755 people make decisions to follow Jesus Christ. We serve 3,135 discipleship-mission, small business, and leadership programs, and out of these programs we have seen 136,260 disciple-makers and leaders trained and sent out to plant churches in least-reached areas.

In 2023 we saw 13,530 disciple-makers trained, 61,741 new believers worshiping in local fellowships, and 2,996 new churches planted in just one year!

Here’s what God has done through Global Disciples in 2023,

Prayer will change your life for good.

Masamba* came in, walking with crutches. His legs, twisted and useless from birth, held his weight long enough to move his crutches one step forward.

One day, Masamba's friend had insisted he come to this meeting to be prayed for in the name of Jesus. But born in a Muslim village in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Masamba had never met a group of Christ-followers.

At this meeting, someone asked Masamba if they could pray for Jesus to heal his legs. “Of course!” he agreed, but he nearly laughed at the question. After all, he had been born like this. A short time later, Masamba walked out of the meeting carrying his crutches! And in the following days, he and many of his family and neighbors came to know Christ.

God does the impossible when we pray. When we hear stories like Masamba's, we are reminded that miracles can happen, even in places where people have never heard the Good News of Jesus.

What is worship? This question, while seemingly simple, unlocks a vast exploration into the Christian doctrine and daily practice. Worship involves much more than singing hymns or attending services; it is a profound expression of reverence and adoration towards God that permeates every aspect of a believer’s life. In the context of mission work facilitated by Global Disciples Canada, worship plays a crucial role in not only personal faith but also in spreading the Good News to least-reached communities around the globe.

At Global Disciples Canada, we harness this multifaceted nature of worship, cultivating leaders who are well-versed in scripture and active worshipers in spirit and truth. These leaders go forth, empowered to ignite a spirit of worship in the hearts of those in least-reached communities, catalyzing spiritual and societal transformation.
“It's so amazing to see Global Disciples allowing God to use them to make the good news of Jesus known. I think their strategic and sustainable approach to multiplication through training the trainers in disciple making is awesome. I also absolutely love the way they focus on least-reached communities.” - Joe J.
Meet Mboya*

Mboya came in, walking with crutches. His legs, twisted and useless from birth, held his weight long enough to move his crutches one step forward. His friend had insisted he come to this meeting to be prayed for in the name of Jesus.

Born in a Muslim village in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mboya had never met a group of Christ-followers. It was a small group. There, they talked about knowing Jesus, and a man taught from the Bible.

Someone asked Mboya if they could pray for Jesus to heal his legs. “Of course!” he agreed, but he nearly laughed at the question. After all, he had been born like this.

But it didn't take long for God to move. Mboya found himself completely healed and walked out of the meeting carrying his crutches! Because of this mircale, he and many of his family and neighbors came to know Christ. God does the impossible when we pray!

We live in a time where many people are within reach of a local church. Through our simple and effective strategy of training and coaching, believers share the Gospel in their own nations and cultures. Jesus said, “Go and make disciples of all nations,” and we’re committed to doing just that.

Through prayer, God removes the blinders that keep people from seeing the light of the Gospel that displays the glory of Christ (2 Corinthians 4:4). This is why prayer is foundational to any evangelism or mission effort.

This month, our prayer focus has been Central Africa. Please continue to join us through prayer, as we lift up the team, leaders and churches in this region.

Annual Equipping Events refresh leaders who often work alone or with limited resources in challenging settings. Frequently, directors will say they were close to giving up, but God met them at the event, refueling them to carry on his work. Leaders who spend so much time pouring into the lives of others come and receive encouragement from God’s Word. Their vision is renewed and occasionally redirected.

Hear from Adam*, who's from Rwanda. He commented on the role of Annual Equipping Events. “Every time I attend this event, I am encouraged and refreshed. My life has changed since I came to Global Disciples training, and our ministry has grown so much. Global Disciples equips us leaders for multiplication, and the strategy for mentoring is fruitful.”

In his testimony, he shared how his training helped them to continue multiplying during the pandemic, using small groups and house churches. In a recent outreach, his team saw 505 people come to faith in Christ!

A program director isn’t left alone to sink or swim. In fact, hey are built up, encouraged, blessed, prayed for, and renewed in heart, skills, and vision by attending these events. They experience God’s empowering work for the next season of training and outreach to least-reached people.

We want to thank you for your continued support towards Global Disciples Canada!

Because of your generosity, disciple-makers are trained, new believers belong to fellowships, new churches are being planted, and entire countries are being impacted! We are the body of Christ, and we could not do what we do without your involvement. So thank you!
As Global Disciples, we want all we do to be conceived, birthed, and carried out in prayer, believing that God transforms both our lives and the lives of others through prayer. Join us this month as we pray for the region of Central Africa.

Transforming prayer takes us from self-centered, wish-list praying into a passionate pursuit of Jesus. As we pursue intimacy with our Heavenly Father, the Holy Spirit transforms our minds and reorders our priorities. He softens hearts, opens minds, and draws people into a relationship with Jesus.

Let him use you and your prayers, to move through the people in Central Africa.
